The loss of her puppy due to inadequate veterinary care in her hometown, compounded by the realization during her studies at IPB University that she had unknowingly contributed to its death by sharing chocolate milk, became the defining moment that shaped drh. Ester's veterinary career. With a special interest in dermatology and general practice, she has completed a range of advanced training to support her clinical work, including the Zoetis Early Experience Dermatology Program, training in Basic Ophthalmology and Eye Examination, an ESAVS certification in Dermatology Knowledge, an advanced dermatology course at MV Academy, and a Dermatology Vetsminar Series with PDHI. Beyond her clinical role at Modernvet, drh. Ester also serves as the Head of Medical Modernvet Animal Hospitals. This combination of dermatology expertise and clinical leadership ensures that both her patients and the Modernvet medical team receive the highest standard of evidence-based care. drh. Ester completed her undergraduate and professional veterinary degrees at IPB University. She then pursued a Master's degree in Communication Science at LSPR Communication & Business Institute in Jakarta, a background that informs her clear, empathetic communication with both pet parents and her medical team. She joined Modernvet as its first veterinarian and has been with the hospital since its founding. Born in Tigabinanga, North Sumatra, drh. Ester teaches Sunday school, volunteers as a teacher in rural villages, and enjoys traveling in her spare time.
